CK Distans is proud to organize the first ever RAAM Qualifier in Sweden. Melfar24 in Denmark has been the only RQ in Scandinavia for more than a decade and with Swedish Ultra bike 610, SUb610, there is a RAAM style event in Scandinavia as well.
For 2017, we are also pleased to invite endurance cyclists to a Randonneur division.
The 610 km route begins and ends in Köping, 150 km from Stockholm. The course, on roads with mostly very limited traffic, takes you through sparsely populated areas and past beautiful lakes in vast pine forests. Many rather short climbs add up to nearly 5000 meters of elevation gain. Maximum time for being qualified for RAAM as well as being an official finisher is 32 hours.
The basics in ultraracing are: no drafting, a nonstop race and that you bring your own follow vehicle that carries food, drink, clothes, spare parts to help you focus on the riding and to minimize stop time. The race takes place on public roads.
Competing in the Randonneur division means that you ride unsupported on the same course as the ultracyclists. The maximum time is 40 hours for both the solo riders and the two person teams. The Randonneur division is not a RAAM qualifier.
Registraton for 2017 opens April 1
